NOVELTY - An ionic liquid electrolyte comprises solute aluminum salt, solvent hydrogen bond donor and organic salt additive for modifying. The organic salt additive is selected from room-temperature molten salt. USE - Ionic liquid electrolyte used for aluminum secondary battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The ionic liquid electrolyte has low cost, high air stability, energy density and heat resistance, improved physical property and conductivity, reduced viscosity and eutectic point, non-volatility, non-flammable property, and improved safety of the aluminum secondary battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) preparation of ionic liquid electrolyte, which involves weighing reactants according to fixed molar ratio of the solute aluminum salt and solvent hydrogen bond donor under room temperature conditions and inert gas atmosphere and sequentially adding to the container, heating and stirring, weighing out the organic salt additive, adding to the container, co-stirring, and cooling the mixed liquid to room temperature; and (2) aluminium secondary battery, which has a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a diaphragm and the electrolyte.
