NOVELTY - A carbon fiber surface modification method involves dissolving graphene oxide in water, and adjusting pH value of an aqueous solution to 8.0-13.0. The resulted solution is stirred and dispersed by an ultrasonic wave to obtain a graphene oxide water solution. The solution is stewed into an electrolytic cell and a conductive metal or a graphite material as a cathode material. Voltage or current is applied to the carbon fiber electrode, and the carbon fiber is coated with graphene oxide. A thermal treatment is carried out with the coated carbon fiber in a furnace to obtain a finished product. USE - Method for modifying a carbon fiber surface. ADVANTAGE - The method enables modifying the carbon fiber surface in a simple, cost-effective and environment-friendly manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A carbon fiber surface modification method involves dissolving 0.01-2 g/l graphene oxide in water, and adjusting pH value of an aqueous solution to 8.0-13.0 by using alkali. The resulted solution is stirred at 20-300 rpm for 60 hours, and the stirred solution is dispersed by 30-300 watt ultrasonic wave for 10 minutes-10 hours to obtain a graphene oxide water solution. The water solution is stewed into an electrolytic cell at 20-80 degrees C followed by utilizing a carbon fiber as an anode material of an electrode, and a conductive metal or a graphite material as a cathode material. Voltage or current is applied to the carbon fiber electrode by a constant potential method or constant current method, and the carbon fiber is coated with graphene oxide. A thermal treatment is carried out with the coated carbon fiber in a furnace at 80-600 degrees C for 10 seconds-60 minutes to obtain a finished product, where furnace ambient medium is air, oxygen, ozone, nitrogen, argon or ammonia gas.
