NOVELTY - Preparation of bibenzyl compound involves mixing raw material containing biomass-based benzyl alcohol or benzyl alcohol derivative as substrate with a reducing agent in a solvent, contacting with a catalyst, and subjecting to reductive coupling reaction, and one-step dehydroxylation-carbon-carbon coupling reaction. USE - Preparation of bibenzyl compound. ADVANTAGE - The preparation method is carried out under mild reaction using regenerable raw materials with rich functional groups to directly produce bibenzyl compound or natural bibenzyl drug with high selectivity and low requirement of device.
