NOVELTY - Reductive preparation of graphene oxide/titanium dioxide composite photo-catalytic material comprises e.g. preparing graphene oxide by Hummers method, dispersing graphene oxide powder in water/ethanol mixed solution, where the water and ethanol volume ratio is 1:1, ultrasonically dispersing uniformly to obtain solution, preparing 2-9% mass concentration of uniformly dispersed oxidized graphene into graphene oxide, adding hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide surfactant and 30-40% concentrated hydrochloric acid, stirring at 20-40 degrees C, adding titanyl sulfate, and continuously stirring. USE - The material is useful for degrading formaldehyde (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method has simple operation, and is economical. The composite material has good stability, stable performance, high photocatalytic activity under visible light irradiation, and has high formaldehyde degradation rate. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Reductive preparation of graphene oxide/titanium dioxide composite photo-catalytic material comprises (i) preparing graphene oxide by Hummers method, (ii) dispersing graphene oxide powder in water/ethanol mixed solution, where the water and ethanol volume ratio is 1:1, ultrasonically dispersing uniformly to obtain solution, preparing 2-9% mass concentration of uniformly dispersed oxidized graphene into graphene oxide, adding hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide surfactant and 30-40% concentrated hydrochloric acid, stirring at 20-40 degrees C for 1-2 hours, then adding titanyl sulfate, continuously stirring for 1-2 hours, and (iii) placing the mixed solution in high-pressure hydro-thermal reaction with polytetrafluoroethylene internal lining for 12-24 hours, after reacting completely, naturally cooling to the room temperature, filtering and washing by de-ionized water and absolute ethyl alcohol until pH is 7, at last vacuum drying at 40-80 degrees C to obtain the reduced-oxidized graphene/titanium dioxide composite photo-catalytic material.
