NOVELTY - A thick electrode comprises a current collector (1) and an active layer (2) set at two sides of the current collector. The active layer comprises a coating (21) located far away from one side of the current collector, and a coating (22) located on one side close to the current collector. The coating (22) comprises a liquid retention additive and an adhesive. The content of adhesive in the coating (22) is greater than the content of adhesive in the coating (21). USE - Thick electrode e.g. positive electrode and negative electrode for battery (all claimed) used in electric automobile. ADVANTAGE - The thick electrode has excellent wetting property, which reduces the electron transfer impedance and improves the binding force between the active layer and the current collector, avoids the powder falling off the electrode, increases the thickness of the electrode, improves the energy density of the battery cell, ensures that the electrochemical performance of the battery is not affected, solves a series of defects caused by the thickening of the electrode, avoids the increase of resistance ratio, and ensures cycle performance of battery.
