NOVELTY - A negative electrode waterborne slurry composition comprises a binder, a dispersant, a negative electrode active material, and an aqueous medium. The dispersant comprises a copolymer comprising (a) 1-50 wt.% constitutional units comprising the residue of a monomer comprising a nitrogen-containing heterocycle and (b) constitutional units comprising the residue of an alkyl ester of a (meth)acrylic acid and/or the residue of α , β -ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid-functional monomer, based on the total weight of the dispersant. USE - Waterborne slurry composition for negative electrode used in electrical storage device e.g. cell, battery pack, secondary battery, capacitor and supercapacitor (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The negative electrode waterborne slurry composition: utilizes the dispersant, which exhibits improved dispersion; and provides the negative electrode, which has improved charge and/or discharge characteristics.
