NOVELTY - Apparatus comprises multilayer coextrusion device comprising many series-coupled layer multiplication dies (116, 118, 120, 122). The multilayer coextrusion apparatus is configured to exfoliate graphene by coextrusion of first (106) and second (108) processing materials through many series coupled layer multiplication dies to produce resulting material including many alternating layers of first and second processing materials. The first processing material comprises first graphite material dispersed in first substrate. The second processing material comprises second substrate material. USE - The apparatus is useful for producing graphene from graphite (claimed), where the graphene is useful: in polymer composites, polyvinyl chloride siding or automotive and/or other transportation related applications; as an additive for polystyrene based composites; to provide electrically conductive polymers for textile applications; and in electronics related applications. ADVANTAGE - The apparatus: provides exfoliation of graphene from graphite by utilizing shear forces produced by multilayer coextrusion of processing materials, and allows for continuous production of graphene; and provides graphene, which has higher strength via high aspect ratio reinforcements, increases the heat deflection temperature of siding such that it may better withstand hot weather related deformations, has high mechanical strength and heat resistance, provides extremely low percolation threshold of 0.1%, which enhances their electrical conductivity and/or strength of the matrix and provides long lasting antistatic properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) producing graphene from graphite, comprising dispersing a first graphite material in a first substrate material to form a first processing material and exfoliating graphene from the first graphite material by coextrusion of the first processing material and second processing material through at least one layer multiplication dies to yield a resulting material including individual layers of first processing material interposed between individual layers of second processing material, where the second processing material comprises a second substrate material; and (2) delaminating multisheet substance, comprising mixing multi sheet substance comprising many stacked sheets with first substrate material to form first processing material, delaminating at least one sheet from the multisheet substance by application of shear stress to the first processing material and separating the delaminated sheets from the first substrate material.
