NOVELTY - Preparing liquid metal core fiber by melt spinning comprises extruding the skin layer thermoplastic polymer by screw, melt metering pump after metering into the sheath-core complex spinning component, simultaneously injecting the core layer liquid metal into the sheath-core complex spinning component by the high pressure liquid injection pump, melt spinning to obtain the liquid metal core fiber, contacting the surface of the sheath-core complex spinning component and the liquid metal coated with a corrosion resistant and high temperature resistant coating, where the corrosion resistance refers to the liquid metal corrosion resistance, the zero shear viscosity of the thermoplastic polymer at the spinning temperature is greater than 500 Pa.s, the injection speed of the liquid metal is more than 2 times and the sheath thermoplastic polymer is a polar thermoplastic polymer or a non-polar thermoplastic polymer containing more than 1 wt.% metal oxide or an inorganic oxide. USE - The method is useful for preparing liquid metal core fiber by melt spinning. ADVANTAGE - The method: is simple; successfully uses the sheath-core complex spinning to prepare fibers with liquid metal cores, which filled the gaps; is difficult to actively run out of the fiber due to the wicking effect, when liquid metal always maintains liquid; blocks the ends of the fiber or heat to melt the polymer skin to end from copper wire and other metal wires; prevents the coating from blocking the capillary; solves the problem by using a non-polar thermoplastic polymer as the skin layer and adding more than 1 wt.% metal oxide or inorganic oxide or using a polar thermoplastic polymer as the skin layer; changes the polarity of the polymer and increases the binding ability.
