NOVELTY - Growth of copper oxide nanoparticles on graphene matrix involves adding graphene nanosheet to ethanol solution of copper nitrate, mixing in the mass ratio of 0.5-2:100, magnetically stirring for 10-20 minutes, mixing uniformly, processing obtained mixed solution at 23-28 degrees C for 5-10 hours, and treating in an oven at 195-205 degrees C for 9-11 hours. USE - Growth of copper oxide nanoparticles on graphene matrix used as insulating electrode material for lithium ion battery. ADVANTAGE - The copper oxide nanoparticles are efficiently grown on graphene matrix by simple method with reduced consumption of energy. The electrode material using graphene matrix containing copper oxide nanoparticles, has excellent electrochemical performance. The lithium ion battery using the electrode material has high capacity and cycle characteristics. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Growth of copper oxide nanoparticles on graphene matrix involves heating graphite oxide in air, drying at 290-305 degrees C for 3-5 minutes, processing in argon atmosphere at 850-950 degrees C for 3-4 hours, obtaining graphene nanosheets, dissolving copper nitrate trihydrate in ethanol solution, stirring until completely dissolved, preparing 4-10% ethanol solution of copper nitrate, adding graphene nanosheet to ethanol solution of copper nitrate, mixing in the mass ratio of 0.5-2:100, magnetically stirring for 10-20 minutes, mixing uniformly, processing obtained mixed solution at 23-28 degrees C for 5-10 hours, and treating in an oven at 195-205 degrees C for 9-11 hours.
