NOVELTY - Preparing graphene quantum dot modified zinc oxide catalyst involves preparing graphene quantum dot powder by solvothermal process, preparing zinc oxide catalyst by solid phase chemical process, using equimolar zinc acetate and oxalic acid as raw material, mixing, grinding, centrifugation drying, calcining the collected white solid sample in air atmosphere to obtain zinc oxide catalyst, dispersing ultrasonically the prepared graphene quantum dot powder in deionized water, adding the obtained zinc oxide catalyst, where the mass ratio of graphene quantum dot to zinc oxide is 0.005-0.05:1, stirring magnetically uniformly, washing, and drying the mixture to obtain graphene quantum dot modified zinc oxide catalyst with different concentration. USE - Method for preparing graphene quantum dot modified zinc oxide catalyst used for photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange organic dye (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare graphene quantum dot modified zinc oxide catalyst with simple operation, low energy consumption and no secondary pollution for designing dual-function catalysts with high catalytic efficiency and high recovery rate, and it has important application value in the field of organic dye wastewater degradation technology and the development of sustainable energy.
