NOVELTY - Detection of sunset yellow involves adding phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) solution of 0.01 mg/mL graphene quantum dots and aqueous solution of 0.09 mol/L potassium chloride and 0.09 mol/L potassium persulfate to to-be-tested sample, obtaining to-be-tested system, detecting sunset yellow using a three-electrode system, and calculating the concentration of sunset yellow by the linear regression equation with light intensity as ordinate, and logarithm of sunset yellow concentration as abscissa. In the sunset yellow concentration of 2.5x 10-9 mol/L to 2.5x 10-5 mol/L, the graphene quantum dots effectively detect sunset yellow. USE - Detection of sunset yellow using graphene quantum dots. ADVANTAGE - The sunset yellow is economically detected with high sensitivity and selectivity, by simple process. In the sunset yellow concentration of 2.5x 10-9 mol/L to 2.5x 10-5 mol/L, the graphene quantum dots effectively detect sunset yellow.
