NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene involves high-shear milling an aqueous graphite suspension having a concentration of 1-5% for at least 600 passes. USE - Preparation of graphene as nanosheets and nanoplatelets for electrochemical sensors, electromagnetic shielding material, capacitors, batteries, aerogel and/or nanocharges (all claimed). Uses include but are not limited to electronic applications, polymer matrix composites, fabrics, electrodes, conductive thin films, aircraft components, motor vehicle components, building materials, paints, varnishes, etc. ADVANTAGE - The method easily separates graphene nanoplatelets without aggregation by centrifuging.
