NOVELTY - The method comprises causing (1102) motion of an enclosed container comprising substrate material and graphite material within the container, and coating (1104) surfaces of the substrate material with the graphite material responsive to the motion of the container, where the coated surfaces comprise graphene or graphene layers. The container comprises an inner surface composed of the graphite material, and a graphite cylinder. The coating is based on friction between the substrate material and the graphite material of the inner surface of an enclosure. USE - The method is useful for producing graphene. ADVANTAGE - The method enables production of graphene with improved electrical conductivity and lithium ion mobility and without the introduction of solutions/solvents and/or post-processing activities, drying steps. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The method comprises causing (1102) motion of an enclosed container comprising substrate material and graphite material within the container, and coating (1104) surfaces of the substrate material with the graphite material responsive to the motion of the container, where the coated surfaces comprise graphene or graphene layers. The container comprises an inner surface composed of the graphite material, and a graphite cylinder. The coating is based on friction between the substrate material and the graphite material of the inner surface of an enclosure. A hollow or solid member is disposed within the container, and has a surface composed of the graphite material. The coating is based on friction between the substrate material and the graphite material of the member. The member comprises a graphite powder. The container includes additional members that have a surface composed of the graphite material. The coating is further based on friction between the substrate material and the graphite material of the members. The member further comprises a solid graphite member. The substrate material comprises an electrode material. The electrode material comprises lithium ion based electrode materials. The substrate material is present in the form of a film. The film comprises a polymer or non-polymer film or fibers. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for an apparatus for producing graphene based on mechanical mechanisms.
