NOVELTY - A dynamic shaft seal comprises elastomeric material, and 0.1-2 phr graphene containing elemental carbon as sole component of dynamic shaft seal, based on 100 pts. wt. elastomeric material. USE - Dynamic shaft seal used for reducing abrasion in tribological system (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The dynamic shaft seal has excellent abrasion resistance and long-term service life. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a tribological system, which comprises a wave and the dynamic shaft seal abutting the shaft in a sealing manner; (2) use of the dynamic shaft seal comprising elastomeric material and graphene to reduce the abrasion of the dynamic shaft seal and/or a counter surface on which the dynamic shaft seal rests in a sealing manner; and (3) method of reducing abrasion, which involves providing the dynamic shaft seal comprising elastomeric material and graphene, and arranging the dynamic shaft seal such that the dynamic shaft seal on a shaft rests tightly, and rotating the shaft.
