▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - A surface-modified carbon material (15a) comprises a carbon material chosen from graphene, graphite, glassy carbon film and film-like pyrolytic carbon, comprising chemical modification groups (14) on at least one portion of its surface. One-dimensional periodicity corresponding to multiple sites for the addition of the chemical modification group can be observed in a Fourier-transform image of a scanning probe microscopic image on the surface. USE - Surface-modified carbon material used in field effect transistor, sensor, light emitting element and catalyst (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The surface-modified carbon material is capable of controlling current and band gap, and exhibiting anisotropic electric conductivity. The surface-modified carbon material provides electronic device which indirectly senses a change in carrier movement according to a change in the external environment. The surface-modified carbon material provides sensor which is capable of electronically controlling an operation or another electronic device. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) organic compound-carbon material composite, which comprises the carbon material, a thin film, and a solvent. The thin film comprises a periodic assembly of organic compounds. The surface of the carbon material is covered with the thin film. The solvent is a non-polar organic solvent or a low polarity organic solvent. The solvent is arranged on the thin film; and (2) manufacture of surface-modified carbon material, which involves (i) generating a thin film using an organic compound on the surface of the carbon material and reacting a chemical modification compound with the surface of the carbon material using the thin film as a mask, or (ii) electrochemically reacting a chemical modification compound with a carbon material using an electrochemical cell comprising a working electrode, a counter electrode, a reference electrode and an aqueous electrolyte solution. The carbon material is used as the working electrode. The aqueous electrolyte solution comprises an aqueous solution comprising the chemical modification compound. A liquid medium comprising a compound exhibiting periodic self-assembly is arranged between the working electrode and the aqueous electrolyte solution, and the aqueous electrolyte solution and the liquid medium are immiscible with each other. The organic compound is 15-80C linear alkane or 10-80C linear alkane derivative. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows a schematic view of the surface-modified carbon material.
