NOVELTY - Preparing adsorbent graphene oxide hydrogel, comprises (i) adding carboxylated graphene oxide into deionized water, and ultrasonically dispersing for 2-5 hours to obtain 2-8 wt.% carboxylated graphene oxide dispersion, (ii) dropwise adding itaconic acid into carboxylated graphene oxide dispersion, and stirring to obtain uniform dispersion A, (iii) adding 2-7 wt.% hydroxypropyl- beta -cyclodextrin and hydroxybutyl chitosan into deionized water, stirring at 30-40 degrees C for 2-4 hours, then adding hydroxyapatite and montmorillonite, continuously stirring and dispersing for 1-2 hours to obtain mixed solution B, and (iv) adding step (ii) product into step (iii) product, adding cross-linking agent, and reacting at 60-100 degrees C for 10-15 hours to obtain hydrogel. USE - The hydrogel is useful in field of wastewater treatment. ADVANTAGE - The method: utilizes hydroxypropyl- beta -cyclodextrin which improves specific surface area of the hydrogel, and utilizes hydroxybutyl chitosan, hydroxyapatite and montmorillonite which improves adsorption of hydrogel to heavy metal ions. The hydrogel has uniform stability, large specific surface area and high adsorption efficiency.
