NOVELTY - Graphite powder is stirred with concentrated sulfuric acid, followed by addition of potassium hydroxide solution. The mixture is dispersed and filtered. The filter cake is washed with water, ultrasonically dispersed in water, and centrifugally separated to obtain supernatant graphene solution. The obtained graphene solution is mixed with degummed silk fibroin and formic acid to obtain a spinning solution. The spinning solution is electrospun using an electrostatic spinning device to obtain graphene/silk composite fiber. USE - Preparation of graphene/silk composite fiber (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is simple and easy, and effectively improves mechanical property of silk fiber. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Graphite powder is added and stirred with concentrated sulfuric acid, followed by addition of aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide. Stirring is continued, and the mixture is dispersed ultrasonically and filtered. The filter cake is washed with deionized water, ultrasonically dispersed in deionized water, and centrifugally separated to obtain supernatant graphene solution. Silk is added to an alkaline aqueous salt solution, washed with deionized water, and degummed by removing sericin protein. The degummed material is dissolved in calcium chloride solution, placed in a dialysis tube, dialyzed, and freeze-dried to obtain silk fibroin. The obtained graphene solution is mixed with degummed silk fibroin and formic acid to obtain a spinning solution. The spinning solution is electrospun using an electrostatic spinning device to obtain graphene/silk composite fiber.
