NOVELTY - A thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) composition comprises an olefin-block copolymer (OBC) at a concentration of 50-70 wt.%; polypropylene copolymer at a concentration of 10-20 wt.%; an adhesion promoter at a concentration of 1-10 wt.%; a sulfur-free stabilizer additive at a concentration of 0.1-0.8 wt.%; a composition comprising non-migratory hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) and a color pigment at a concentration of 2-6 wt.%; and talc at a concentration of 3-10 wt.%. USE - A thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) composition for slush and rotary-molded article e.g., interior component of automotive vehicle, instrument panel, A-pillar, B-pillar, C-pillar, steering wheel skin, airbag cover, door trim panel, door handle, pillar handle, roof handle, center console, knee bolster, seat mechanism cover, or sun visor (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composition has low VOC output, good adhesion, long-term high heat performance, and reliable air bag deployment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) article comprising a thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) material comprising 50-70 wt.% olefin-block copolymer; and 10-20 wt.% polypropylene copolymer; and (2) making a TPO composition which involves mixing together OBC, polypropylene, and an adhesion promoter to form a mixture; melt extruding the mixture to form an extruded material; and pelletizing the extruded material to form TPO pellets.
