NOVELTY - Preparing flame retardant polymer material comprises mixing 5-8 wt.% aqueous graphene solution or graphite alcohol solution with 2-4 wt.% aqueous inorganic salt solution at a mass ratio of 1:0.5-1:2, stirring at 300 revolutions/minute for 10 minutes, forming the flame retardant complex system by molecular assembling, adding adhesive, stirring 450 revolutions/minute for 30 minutes to obtain flame retardant finishing solution of the complex system, and associating the flame retardant finishing solution of the complex system with polymer material. USE - The method is useful for preparing flame retardant polymer material. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple and economical. The material has high limiting oxygen index of 38-52%.
