NOVELTY - Manufacture of catalyst involves (a) synthesizing graphene oxide, (b) preparing small graphene by applying a physical impact to the graphene oxide to atomize the graphene oxide, (c) preparing a colloidal solution by dispersing the small graphene oxide and the catalytically active material in a dispersion medium, (d) irradiating microwaves to the colloidal solution and synthesizing a platinum catalyst on a graphene support and (e) washing and drying after synthesis. In the small graphene of step (b), the ratio of the peak intensity (ID) of the D band to the peak intensity (IG) of the G band in the Raman spectrum is 0.9-1.05. USE - Manufacture of catalyst (claimed) used for polymer electrolyte fuel cell. ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare catalyst for polymer electrolyte fuel cell in a simple and cost-effective manner with improved dispersion of catalytic active material.
