NOVELTY - Preparation of single-layer graphene oxide involves cooling temperature of the intercalation agent to below 8°C, then adding pretreated graphite powder and mixing to obtain a suspension of graphite powder and intercalation agent, pre-treating by drying and sieving, adding oxidizing agent to the suspension to carry out intercalation reaction again to obtain reaction product mixed with graphene oxide, mixing the reaction product with graphene oxide, subjecting to solid-liquid separation to obtain a filter cake and a filtrate, mixing the filter cake with ice water, dissolving and dispersing the graphite oxide filter cake, adding a quenching agent to reduce the damage to the sheet by the hydration reaction to obtain a graphene oxide suspension, subjecting to solid-liquid separation to obtain filter cake, stirring filter cake and washing, subjecting to solid-liquid separation, and collecting graphene oxide. USE - Preparation of single-layer graphene oxide used in energy environment, microelectronics, and composite material. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple and short, and produces single-layer graphene oxide with controllable diameter, and efficient and simple washing step, and causes less pollution and does not need instrument device and is suitable for industrial production and economical. The obtained graphene oxide has high single-layer rate of more than 90% by regulating the mass ratio of graphite powder raw material and oxidant to be 1:2-1:8.
