NOVELTY - Graphene oxide reduction involves suspending graphene oxide, and then dissolving an iodide in a liquid medium, where the dissolved iodide partially reduces the graphene oxide to obtain a liquid composition comprising partially reduced graphene oxide and dissolved iodide. The liquid medium is removed from the liquid composition to form a graphitic layer comprising graphene oxide and iodide. The graphitic layer is irradiated with UV radiation to reduce the graphene oxide and provide for a reduced form of graphene oxide. USE - Method for reducing graphene oxide for electrode sheets for graphitic material for an electrode for supercapacitor (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method reduces the graphene oxide in a simple, cost-effective and eco-friendly manner with large-scale production, improved stability, larger gravimetric capacitance and significantly improved rating capability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a supercapacitor, which comprises an electrolyte comprising a salt selected from a lithium salt, a sodium salt, a potassium salt, and a combination.
