NOVELTY - Method for producing graphene flakes by electrochemical exfoliation, involves (a) placing electrodes (anode and cathode) with electrolyte constitute an electrochemical circuit with current flowing through it, at least partially immersing the electrodes in the electrolyte and electrolyzing, during which graphite flakes detaching from the electrodes to be released into the electrolyte solution, (b) recovering the exfoliated graphene flakes from the electrolyte solution by filtration, washing the precipitate with distilled water, drying, and taking the precipitate in dimethylformamide and ultrasonically processing the obtained suspension at a frequency of 30 kHz for 15-30 minutes, and (c) centrifuging the precipitate and recovering graphene from the supernatant, evaporating the suspension to dryness by drying (at elevated temperature until a graphene layer is obtained) and/or freeze-drying (graphene powder). USE - The method is used for producing graphene flakes by an electrochemical exfoliation method. ADVANTAGE - The graphene flakes have excellent mechanical, chemical and electrical properties.
