NOVELTY - A carbon ball/sulfur/reduced graphene oxide composite includes carbon spheres, elemental sulfur and reduced graphene oxide. Elemental sulfur is stored in the surface wrinkles and internal pore structure of carbon spheres. The reduced graphene oxide is coated on the surface of the sulfur/carbon ball composite to form reduced graphene oxide encapsulation layer. USE - Carbon ball/sulfur/reduced graphene oxide composite is used for positive electrode of lithium-sulfur battery. ADVANTAGE - The carbon ball/sulfur/reduced graphene oxide composite has abundant surface folds and internal pore structure, specific surface area of 1000 m2/g, and improved conductivity and cycle stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of carbon ball/sulfur/reduced graphene oxide composite, which involves preparing carbon spheres from graphene oxide and conductive carbon material, mixing with sulfur and carbon spheres, obtaining sulfur/carbon sphere composite material, coating sulfur/carbon sphere composite on pole sample, and reducing deposited graphene oxide layer.
