NOVELTY - Microsphere, comprises a bio-based material and a photo-thermal conversion material. USE - The microsphere is useful in collecting clean water from environmental water using solar energy to obtain fresh water (claimed) and in the fields of energy utilization, seawater desalination, and photothermal sterilization. ADVANTAGE - The microsphere: is environmentally friendly; has excellent biodegradation property, light absorption performance, photothermal conversion ability and high water evaporation rate under illumination; ensure the average particle diameter of 1-3 µm, preferably 100-1 µm, light absorption efficiency of ≥ 99.0%, preferably ≥ 99.5%, light-to-heat conversion efficiency of more than 85%, preferably more than 92%, water evaporation rate under one solar equivalent of ≥ 1.65 kg.m-2.h-1, preferably ≥ 2.0 kg.m.2.h-1. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing the microsphere, comprising obtaining the micro-sphere through the way of in situ aggregate or absorbing on the surface of the spherical granular biobased material, blending the bio-based material solution with the photo-thermal conversion material to obtain the final product.
