NOVELTY - An aerogel-type heavy metal adsorbent comprises an aerogel material and a chelating group-containing organic substance. The aerogel material comprises silica aerogel, titanium dioxide aerogel, carbon aerogel, graphene aerogel and/or their composites. The chelating group-containing organic substance is prepared by (a) dissolving chelating agent in deionized water, adding N-hydroxysuccinimide and 1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride, adjusting the pH value to 5-7 and carrying out activation reaction to obtain an intermediate liquid, (b) adding dopamine to the intermediate liquid, adjusting the pH value to 3-7 and stirring to obtain a reaction solution, and (c) adding diethyl ether to the reaction solution to form a precipitate, centrifuging and vacuum drying to obtain the chelating group-containing organic substance. USE - Aerogel-type heavy metal adsorbent. ADVANTAGE - The aerogel-type heavy metal adsorbent has large adsorption capacity and high adsorption efficiency, and is stable and convenient to prepare. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - In the step (a), the activation reaction is carried out at 20-50 degrees C. In the step (b), the stirring step is carried out at room temperature for 10-40 hours. The chelating agent is EDTA, nitrilotriacetic acid, diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid, ethylene glycol tetraacetic acid, ethylenediamine bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)acetic acid, cyclohexanediaminetetraacetic acid, S,S-ethylenediamine disuccinic acid, diethyltriacetic acid, tetrasodium glutamate diacetate, methylglycine N,N-diacetic acid, hydroxyethylethylenediaminetriacetic acid or dihydroxyethylglycine. The mass ratio of chelating agent, deionized water, N-hydroxysuccinimide and 1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride is 1:1-200:0.1-10:0.1-10. The mass ratio of intermediate liquid and dopamine is 1:0.001-1. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the method for preparing the aerogel-type heavy metal adsorbent, which involves mixing aerogel material with alcohol solvent and deionized water, completely infiltrating, adjusting the pH value to 7-11 to obtain an aerogel solution, where the mass ratio of aerogel material, alcohol solvent and deionized water is 1:0.1-100:0.1-200 and the alcohol solvent is ethanol, methanol, isopropanol and n-butanol, dissolving chelating group-containing organic substance in deionized water to obtain a chelating group-containing organic substance solution having 0.1-10 %mass chelating group organic substance, dripping the chelating group-containing organic substance solution into the aerogel solution, reacting at 20-60 degrees C for 1-24 hours to obtain an aerogel reaction solution, where the mass ratio of the chelating group-containing organic solution and aerogel solution is 1:0.1-100, filtering the aerogel reaction solution, washing and drying to obtain the aerogel-type heavy metal adsorbent, where the drying step is atmospheric drying or supercritical drying.
