NOVELTY - Sorbent has a volumetric iodine number of at least 450 mg/cm3 and a volumetric molasses number of at least 100 cm3. USE - The sorbent is useful in sorbent composition for removing perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances from fluid (claimed). The perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances are perfluoroalkane sulfonic acid, N-butyl perfluoroalkane sulfonamide, N-butyl perfluoroalkane sulfonamido acetic acid, N-ethyl perfluoroalkane sulfonamide, perfluoroalkane sulfonamide, N-methyl perfluoroalkane sulfonamide, or perfluoroalkyl acid. ADVANTAGE - The sorbent has high volumetric iodine number and high volumetric molasses number. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a method for removing one or more perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances from a fluid involves (a) providing the sorbent, or (b) contacting the fluid with the sorbent; and (2) a sorbent composition comprising one or more sorbents having volumetric iodine number of at least 450 mg/cm3 and a volumetric molasses number of at least 100 cm3, and a second sorbent.
