NOVELTY - Production of graphene-reinforced polymer matrix composite directly from graphitic material involves performing step (a) of mixing multiple particles of graphitic material and multiple particles of solid polymer carrier material to form mixture in impacting chamber of energy impacting apparatus, and performing step (b) of operating energy impacting apparatus with frequency and intensity for length of time sufficient for peeling off graphene sheets from graphitic material and transferring graphene sheets to surfaces of solid polymer carrier material particles. USE - Production of graphene-reinforced polymer matrix composite. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, fast, scalable, cost-effective, and environmentally benign, does not use undesirable chemicals, and produces graphene containing product with high electrical and thermal conductivity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Production of graphene-reinforced polymer matrix composite directly from graphitic material involves performing step (a) of mixing multiple particles of graphitic material and multiple particles of solid polymer carrier material to form mixture in impacting chamber of energy impacting apparatus, and performing step (b) of operating energy impacting apparatus with frequency and intensity for length of time sufficient for peeling off graphene sheets from graphitic material and transferring graphene sheets to surfaces of solid polymer carrier material particles to produce graphene-coated or graphene-embedded polymer particles inside impacting chamber, and recovering graphene-coated or graphene-embedded polymer particles from impacting chamber. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for mass of graphene-coated or graphene-embedded polymer particles in which graphene proportion is 0.01-80 wt.% based on total weight of graphene and polymer combined.
