NOVELTY - A gel is made of boron and nitrogen co-doped graphene oxide, where the gel is functionalized with receptor. USE - Gel for detecting presence of analyte adapted to receptor in sample, and forming channel in field-effect transistor (all claimed) biosensor for sensing biological molecules e.g. nucleic acids, proteins, lipids, glycoproteins, and glycolipids, and short-channel devices, wearable devices, and transparent electrode devices, where analyte includes proteins, nucleic acids, antigens, bacteria, fungi, viruses, cells, enzymes, genes, oxidative stress, pesticide, toxin, antibiotics, hormones, bacteria, or other pathogens. ADVANTAGE - The field effect transistor using the gel has high charge carrier mobility of 106cm2V-1s-1and 105cm2V-1s-1, ON and OFF current ratio of between 108and 105cm2V-1s-1, improved detection range, and improved sensing performance and enhances the limit of detection towards bio-analytes. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for method of detecting a presence of an analyte adapted to the receptor in a sample, which involves applying sample onto the gel, measuring a property of the gel during contact with the sample, and determining the presence of analyte in the sample based on the measured property.
