NOVELTY - Iron oxide graphite composite material comprises core-shell structure, the inner core is graphite, and outer shell is composite material composed of iron oxide/amorphous carbon/conductive agent, the mass of the composite material negative electrode material is 100 wt.%, the mass of the outer shell is 1-30 wt.%. USE - The composite material is used in lithium ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite material: can improves the power performance and energy density of graphite, and takes into account the storage and expansion performance of material. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing the iron oxide graphite composite material comprising (1) according to mass ratio of inorganic iron compound, conductive agent, auxiliary agent is 100:1-5:0.5-2, adding the inorganic iron compound to organic solvent to make the concentration 0.1-1 mol/l, dispersing evenly, adding conductive agent solution, and auxiliary agent, adding aqueous ammonia to adjust the pH to 9-10, reacting at 50-200°C for 1-6 hours, filtering, drying the filter residue at 80°C for 24 hours, and sintering at 200-500°C to obtain porous iron oxide; and (2) according to the mass ratio of porous iron oxide, resin, and graphite is 10-20:10-20:100, adding porous iron oxide to the resin solution (1-10 wt.%), uniformly dispersing, adding graphite, transferring to ball mill, dispersing at 500-1000 revolutions/minute for 1-24 hours, drying at 80°C for 24 hours, under an inert atmosphere, carbonizing at 700-1000°C for 1-6 hours.
