NOVELTY - Preparing thermal interface material insulation heat conduction carbon fiber comprises (i) preparing silicon dioxide sol, (ii) soaking the carbon fiber in the silicon dioxide sol prepared in the step (i), stirring evenly, and form a uniform and stable insulating silicon dioxide coating on the surface of the carbon fiber substrate; (iii) thermally reducing silicon dioxide coating-coated carbon fibers prepared at high temperature to obtain surface-coated insulating carbon fibers, and (iv) placing the insulating carbon fiber in the solution of silane coupling agent to carry out chemical grafting to obtain surface modified insulating carbon fiber. USE - The insulating and heat-conducting carbon fiber is useful on the heat-conducting gasket, (claimed), and aerospace, automobile, energy, sports and leisure fields. ADVANTAGE - The method improves the insulating performance of the carbon fiber, avoids the bad influence of carbon fiber in the electronic element application, and provides high heat-conducting and soft thermal interface material. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for use of insulating and heat-conducting carbon fiber on the heat-conducting gasket comprising (a) stirring vinyl silicone oil, hydrogen-containing silicone oil, and inhibitor in vacuum to obtain mixture A, (b) adding the spherical ceramic micropowder after surface grafting modification to the mixed solution A in step (a), and stir evenly under vacuum to obtain the mixture B, (c) adding the surface insulation-coated carbon fiber to the mixed solution B in step (b), add the catalyst, and stir evenly under vacuum to obtain the mixture C, and (d) transferring the mixture C in step (c) to the mold, connect the positive and negative electrodes on both sides, and applying an electric field, then heating up and solidifying to obtain a high thermal conductivity material.
