NOVELTY - Preparing a wear-resistant coating of thermosetting polyimide modified with nano-silicon carbide (SiC) loaded reduced graphene oxide (rGO) complex comprises (i) using improved Hummers method to prepare graphene oxide, (ii) modifying graphene oxide with silane coupling agent, heating and stirring to obtain the reduced graphene, (iii) carrying out the reaction of reduced graphene obtained in the step (ii) with a specific amount of nano silicon carbide particles under oil bath conditions to obtain a complex material of the two, (iv) taking 4,4-diphenyl ether tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (ODPA), nadic anhydride (NA) and 4,4-oxydianiline (ODA) and adding to a specific amount of polar solvent (N-methyl pyrrolidone) as a raw material to prepare thermosetting polyimide, (v) dispersing the complex obtained in the step (iii) into polyimide in a specific proportion, and (vi) heating and sintering. USE - The method is useful for preparing a wear-resistant coating of thermosetting polyimide modified with nano-silicon carbide loaded reduced graphene oxide complex. ADVANTAGE - The coating: has more excellent mechanical properties; and improves the pure polyimide friction and wear performance.
