NOVELTY - Method for improving retention and drainage performance of paper material, involves (a) dispersing plant fiber raw materials in water, pulping, controlling the beating degree at 20-90 OSR, and evenly mixing 0-60 wt.% filler, 0-3 wt.% cationic starch, 0-0.5 wt.% sizing agent or 0-2 wt.% rosin, (b) passing uniformly mixed paper material into front-net flow system of a paper machine, and adding 0.01-0.2 %mass cationic polymer before the punching pump of the front-net flow system or before the pressure screen, (c) adding 0.01-0.3 %mass graphene oxide before the pressure screen or headbox, (d) adding 0-0.5 %mass bentonite particles or colloidal silica particles before the pressure screen or headbox, and (e) molding and drying on a paper machine to produce qualified paper. USE - The method is useful for improving retention and drainage performance of paper material. ADVANTAGE - The method introduces graphene oxide into retention and drainage system, ensures excellent retention and drainage effects, and production efficiency and product quality, improves speed of paper machine, and reduces production cost.
