NOVELTY - The light detecting device (100) comprises a light input device (120) for receiving light, and multiple waveguides (130) extending from the light input device. The waveguides are used to transmit portions of the light received by the light input device, respectively. Multiple modulators (140) are provided on the waveguides and are used to modulate phases of the portions of light transmitted in the waveguides. A graphene layer (150) is used to absorb the portions of light transmitted in the waveguides. A first electrode (161) and a second electrode (162) are electrically connected to the graphene layer. An intermediate layer is provided between the graphene layer and the waveguides. USE - Light detecting device for use in an optical system (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The light detecting device receives light in a specific direction with high efficiency, and thus a light detection and ranging (LiDAR) system for long distances is easily implemented. The LiDAR system reduces the intensity of output light of a light-emitting device, and thus the eye safety is improved, and miniaturization and low costs of a system are realized.
