▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - The media structure has a substrate (310) and a magnetic recording layer (320) for recording information that is placed over the substrate. A protective overcoat layer (330) for protecting the magnetic recording layer is placed over the magnetic recording layer. A lubricant layer is placed over the protective overcoat layer and having a fluorinated graphene nanoribbon. The protective overcoat layer has a carbon overcoat (COC). The protective overcoat layer has a thickness between about 0.5 and 4 nm. USE - Magnetic recording media structure. ADVANTAGE - The lubricant is designed to prevent a catastrophic crash when the head comes in contact with the disk. The fluorinated graphene nanoribbons provide a better surface adhesion resulting in a greater structural stability for the lubricant film. The use of FGNR as lubricant in a magnetic recording media stack to reduce or eliminate many problems associated with lubricants, thus improving reliability and performance for the hard disk drive (HDD). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for lubricating a hard disk drive. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows a block diagram of a HDD system with a magnetic recording media stack and a magnetic read/write head.
