NOVELTY - Preparation of neutral density filter involves growing graphene film directly on one or both sides of glass substrate. USE - Preparation of neutral density filter used as scene attenuating light intensity lens for cameras, sunglasses or arc protective glasses, as conductive glass, water-repellent glass, and attenuator for optical experiments (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method provides neutral density filter with uniform light attenuation of 400-2500 nm, strong UV light absorption with a wavelength of less than 400 nm, and excellent conductivity and hydrophobicity.
