NOVELTY - Photocatalyst used in hydrogen production reaction, comprises core metal atom, first conjugate compound, bidentate ligand and a graphene support. The bidentate coordination ligand comprises a linker containing second conjugated compound. The photocatalyst is supported on the graphene carrier by non-covalent bonding through p,p-interaction between the second conjugate compound bound to the bidentate coordination ligand and the graphene surface. USE - Photocatalyst used in hydrogen production reaction. ADVANTAGE - The photocatalyst has improved stability, improved electron transport properties and increases the efficiency of generation of hydrogen. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing photocatalyst which involves: (A) performing reaction between core metal and first conjugate compound to obtain catalyst composite; (B) performing reaction between the second conjugate compound and the graphene surface; and (C) supporting catalyst composite on graphene carrier to obtain desired photocatalyst.
