NOVELTY - Preparing composite powder involves weighing certain amount of ferrous sulfate, ferric sulfate and sodium borohydride, which are then ground for 10 minutes in a mortar to obtain a solid phase medium. Polymeric liquid medium is prepared by mixing flavonols, perfluorocarbons and polyacrylamide. The prepared solid phase medium and polymeric liquid medium is mixed and then allowed to react at 20-25 degrees C for 2 hours to obtain semi-finished product. USE - Method for preparing composite powder used as carrier for removal of heavy metals in water (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The prepared non-hazardous composite powder is cost-effective. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing composite powder involves weighing certain amount of ferrous sulfate, ferric sulfate and sodium borohydride, which are then ground for 10 minutes in a mortar to obtain a solid phase medium. Polymeric liquid medium is prepared by mixing flavonols, perfluorocarbons and polyacrylamide. The prepared solid phase medium and polymeric liquid medium is mixed and then allowed to react at 20-25 degrees C for 2 hours to obtain semi-finished product. The obtained semi-finished product is washed with anhydrous ethanol thrice to obtain nano zerovalent iron particles, which are then dried in a vacuumized oven. Composite powder activated carbon product is prepared by mixing activated carbon powder with sodium aluminate, ammonia and tetrabutylammonium bromide, followed by the addition of distilled water and silica sol. The mixture is heated at 40 degrees C for 3 hours under stirring condition, and then at 100 degrees C for 8 hours, and then subjected to crystallization. The obtained crystallized product is washed and then dried to obtain composite powder activated carbon product. Multi-layered graphene composite oxide-coated activated carbon powder is prepared by mixing graphene oxide suspension with obtained composite powder activated carbon product, and then reacting the mixture at 450 degrees C for 8 hours, where the product is washed and then dried to obtain multi-layered graphene composite oxide-coated activated carbon powder. Graphene oxide is dissolved in water, where the mixture is stirred ultrasonically for 1-3 hours to prepare graphene oxide suspension. The prepared multi-layered graphene oxide coated activated carbon composite powder is mixed with the obtained nano zerovalent iron particles to form the finished product.
