NOVELTY - Photocatalyst comprises 0-5% graphene and thiocyanate. USE - Photocatalyst used for chemical synthesis of aromatic aldehydes (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is simple. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Photocatalyst comprises 0-5% graphene and thiocyanate ((C3N3S3)n). An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of photocatalyst comprising ultrasonically adding 0-90 pts. wt. graphene oxide powder in water for 20-30 minutes, and adding 1.5-2 g melamine acid monomer and 0.02-0.03 g/ml sodium hydroxide solution, to obtain yellow solution B; stirring at 400-600 revolutions/minute, slowly dropping solution B to solution A, for 40-60 minutes, mixing mixed solution in oil bath at 35-45 degrees C, heating and stirring for 10-14 hours, and adding 28 wt.% in mixed solution, adding ammonia water and 85 wt.% hydrazine hydrate, adding mixed solution at 600-800 revolutions/minute, stirring at room temperature for 30-60 minutes, heating in oil bath of 90-100 degrees C, stirring at 400-600 refluxing/min, and heating for 1-2 hours; and cooling mixed solution to room temperature, adding 0-1.8 pts. wt. melamine to acid monomer, stirring for 4-6 hours at room temperature and 400-600 revolutions/minute, stirring while adding saturated potassium iodide solution to mixed solution, dripping, continuously stirring at 800-1000 revolutions/minute for 20-24 hours to obtain precipitate, filtering, washing and drying.
