NOVELTY - A high activity cadmium sulfide photocatalyst comprises 40-60 pts. wt. cadmium acetate, 15-50 pts. wt. thiourea, 5-10 pts. wt. polyacrylamide, 10-15 pts. wt. graphene oxide, 2-3 pts. wt. tin oxide, 1-2 pts. wt. cobalt carbonate, and 5-10 pts. wt. chitosan. USE - High activity cadmium sulfide photocatalyst. ADVANTAGE - The cadmium sulfide photocatalyst has wide source of raw materials, low cost, high production efficiency, low energy consumption, good adsorbability performance, high catalytic activity and efficiency under visible light irradiation energy in degrading organic pollutant wastewater, and simple preparation method that is environment-friendly and has mild reaction condition. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A high activity cadmium sulfide photocatalyst comprises 40-60 pts. wt. cadmium acetate, 15-50 pts. wt. thiourea, 5-10 pts. wt. polyacrylamide, 10-15 pts. wt. graphene oxide, 2-3 pts. wt. tin oxide, 1-2 pts. wt. cobalt carbonate, and 5-10 pts. wt. chitosan. The high activity cadmium sulfide photocatalyst is prepared by adding ultrasonic generator with cadmium acetate and thiourea, dissolving in water, adjusting pH to 9-10 with ammonia, sonicating at frequency of 40-60 KHz for 30-60 minutes to obtain suspension; adding another ultrasonic generator with graphene oxide, and dispersing in ethanol to obtain graphene dispersion; and adding ball milling device with suspension, graphene dispersion, polyacrylamide, tin oxide, cobalt carbonate and chitosan, adding water, stirring to obtain paste, drying to 80-100 degrees C for 2-3 hours, grinding into powder, adding to furnace, and calcining to 500-600 degrees C for 2-4 hours.
