NOVELTY - Bipolar battery includes a positive electrode material layer (2), a negative electrode material layer, an electrolyte layer, a sealing insulating layer, and an electrode current collector (1). The positive electrode material layer is carried on one side of an electrode current collector to form a positive electrode plate (10). The negative electrode material layer is carried on one side of an electrode current collector to form a negative plate. The positive electrode material layer and the negative electrode material layer are respectively carried on two sides of an electrode current collector to form a bipolar plate. There are n bipolar plates, and n is a natural number. The positive electrode material constituting the positive electrode material layer on the positive electrode plate and the bipolar plate is the same or different. USE - Bipolar battery for magnesium secondary battery or an aluminum secondary battery, and in single group, multiple groups in parallel, and/or multiple groups in series (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The manufacturing cost of the bipolar battery is reduced. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing a bipolar battery, which involves: (A) carrying a positive electrode material layer on one side of an electrode current collector to form a positive electrode plate; (B) carrying the negative electrode material layer on one side of the electrode current collector to form a negative electrode plate; (C) carrying the positive electrode material layer and the negative electrode material layer on both sides of an electrode current collector to form a bipolar plate, where the positive electrode materials constituting the positive electrode material layer on the positive electrode plate and the bipolar plate are the same or different, and negative electrode material constituting the negative electrode material layer on the negative electrode plate and the bipolar plate is the same or different; (D) arranging the electrolyte layer in the hollow structure of the sealing insulating layer to form a barrier layer; (E) stacking the positive plate, n bipolar plates, n+1 separators, and negative plates in the order of positive plates, separators, (bipolar plates, separators)n, and negative plates, where n is a positive integer; and (F) welding and sealing the edges of each electrode plate and the sealing insulation layer one or more times by heating and pressing or glue sealing to form a bipolar battery.
