NOVELTY - Article comprises a polymer body, and a metal coating on at least a portion of an outer surface of the polymer body. The metal coating comprises a plating metal and overlaying a two-dimensional conductive nanoparticle and a catalyst metal. USE - Article. ADVANTAGE - The article has high impact strength and/or flexibility, and exhibited electrical conductivity properties and/or electromagnetic interference (or shielding) properties, other aesthetic and functional benefits. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for forming article, which involves: (a) providing polymer particle comprising a thermoplastic polymer, where the polymer particle has a two-dimensional conductive nanoparticles deposited as a coating upon its outer surface; (b) depositing the polymer particle in a powder bed; (c) consolidating at least a portion of the polymer particles in the powder bed to form a polymer body, in which at least a portion of the two-dimensional conductive nanoparticles are exposed at an outer surface of the polymer body; (d) depositing a catalyst metal upon an outer surface of the polymer body; and (e) performing electroless plating upon the outer surface of the polymer body using a plating metal precursor to form a metal coating upon the outer surface of the polymer body, the metal coating comprising a plating metal and overlaying the two-dimensional conductive nanoparticles and the catalyst metal.
