NOVELTY - Stearyl polysulfone modified phenolic resin comprises 100 pts. wt. phenol, 52-66 pts. wt. formaldehyde aqueous solution, 14-20 pts. wt. modified polysulfone, 4-7 pts. wt. graphene and 0.1-0.3 pt. wt. acid catalyst, where the acid catalyst comprises hydrochloric acid, oxalic acid or acetic acid. The mass concentration of formaldehyde aqueous solution is 35-40%. The modified polysulfone is prepared by adding linoleic acid to dichloromethane, stirring, cooling to 0-5 degrees C, adding oxalyl chloride, heating at 15-30 degrees C, stirring for 20-40 minutes, distilling under reduced pressure to remove the solvent, dissolving the obtained oil in toluene, adding polysulfone and anhydrous aluminum trichloride, heating at 55-75 degrees C, stirring for 2-8 hours, cooling to 15-30 degrees C, adding hydrochloric acid aqueous solution, stirring for 10-20 minutes, adding ether, stirring for 5-10 minutes, filtering and vacuum drying the filter cake to obtain the product. USE - The modified phenolic resin is useful for preparing tire rubber (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The modified phenolic resin has improved toughness, high hardness, impact strength, anti-aging performance and flexibility, and prevents phenolic resin from aging. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Stearyl polysulfone modified phenolic resin comprises 100 pts. wt. phenol, 52-66 pts. wt. formaldehyde aqueous solution, 14-20 pts. wt. modified polysulfone, 4-7 pts. wt. graphene and 0.1-0.3 pt. wt. acid catalyst, where the acid catalyst comprises hydrochloric acid, oxalic acid or acetic acid. The mass ratio of linoleic acid, dichloromethane, oxalyl chloride, toluene, polysulfone, anhydrous aluminum trichloride, hydrochloric acid aqueous solution and ether is (10-15):(50-100):(20-25):(100-200):(12-18):(3-7):(1-5):(400-600). The polysulfone is polysulfone P-1700 or polysulfone P-3500. The concentration of hydrochloric acid aqueous solution is 1-2 mol/l. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for the preparing the stearyl polysulfone modified phenolic resin, involving (a) adding phenol, formaldehyde aqueous solution and acid catalyst to a reactor, stirring, heating at 80-130 degrees C, refluxing, reacting for 1-2 hours, continuously heating at 150-160 degrees C, adding modified polysulfone and graphene, stirring for 0.5-1 hour, vacuumizing to 0-0.1 MPa, stirring for 0.5-1 hour to obtain the product.
