NOVELTY - Preparing gas diffusion layer comprises (a) mixing conductive carbon black, hydrophobic agent, dispersant and anti-icing agent to obtain microporous layer slurry, (b) obtaining carbon paper substrate, (c) coating the micro-layer slurry on the surface of the carbon paper substrates and drying, (d) drying, and (e) performing heat treatment in inert atmosphere. USE - The method is useful as main location of gas and water transmission in proton exchange membrane fuel cell, power station and automobile. ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare gas diffusion layer that has excellent hydrophobic and anti-icing ability, and excellent anti-freezing performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing gas diffusion layer comprises (a) mixing conductive carbon black, hydrophobic agent, dispersant and anti-icing agent to obtain microporous layer slurry, (b) obtaining carbon paper substrate, (c) coating the micro-layer slurry on the surface of the carbon paper substrates and drying, (d) drying, and (e) performing heat treatment in inert atmosphere, where anti-icing agent, i.e. nickel-cobalt hydroxide complex of formula ((Ni,Co)-(CO3)0.5(OH)0.11H2O) (I). An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for gas diffusion layer.
