NOVELTY - Preparing guanidine-functionalized graphene oxide/polysulfone ultrafiltration membrane involves adding acylate the carboxyl group on the surface of graphene oxide by thionyl chloride, and amino coupling to obtain amino functional graphene oxide. The amino group on the amino-functionalized graphene oxide is obtained by nucleophilic substitution of a methoxy group by guanidination of ortho-methylisourea hemisulfate guanidine-functionalized graphene oxide. The guanidino-functionalized graphene oxide is dispersed in a solvent, polysulfone is added and stirred to dissolve by standing, and scraped the membrane with a doctor blade to obtain guanidine-functionalized graphene oxide/polysulfone ultrafiltration membrane. USE - Method for preparing guanidine-functionalized graphene oxide/polysulfone ultrafiltration membrane used in wastewater treatment, where waste water contains Escherichia coli or staphylococcus aureus (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare guanidine-functionalized graphene oxide/polysulfone ultrafiltration membrane that improves the pure water flux of the membrane and separation performance and excellent antimicrobial properties.
