▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Graphene nanoplatelets are formed by providing aqueous suspension comprising expanded graphite, subjecting suspension to exfoliation which includes sequential treatments of sonication and high shear mixing to form graphene nanoplatelets, and optionally isolating the graphene nanoplatelets from the suspension. USE - Formation of graphene nanoplatelets for plastics composite used for vehicle or structure (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - Plastics composite materials comprising the graphene nanoplatelets have excellent mechanical properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) formation of expanded graphite which involves obtaining expandable graphite and heating the expandable graphite in flowing gas at greater than or equal to 600 degrees C; and (2) plastics composite comprising greater than or equal to 0.1 wt.% graphene nanoplatelets.
