NOVELTY - Preparing graphene oxide modified active carbon comprises (i) preparing 0.001-10 mg/ml graphene oxide solution, where the oxidation degree of the graphene oxide is 20-50 % and the average sheet diameter size of the graphene oxide is 50-200 nm; (i) soaking the active carbon in the graphene oxide solution for 0.5-2 hours to obtain graphene oxide modified active carbon; and (iii) separating and drying the graphene oxide modified active carbon at less than or equal to 60 degrees C. USE - The graphene oxide modified active carbon is useful in treating water (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method: produces active carbon with high adsorption rate and the adsorption capacity; and has simple process and is suitable for large-scale industrial production. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) graphene oxide modified active carbon prepared as specified above, comprises activated carbon adsorbed with graphene oxide; and (2) treating water, comprising using graphene oxide modified active carbon.
