NOVELTY - Electrode has graphene nanoribbon of uniform length and greater than about 90% purity. USE - Electrode for use in electrochemical cell, lithium-ion battery, lithium-ion polymer battery, solid-state battery, and ultracapacitor (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The electrode comprises graphene nanoribbons of uniform length and greater than 90% purity, and has improved electrical conductivity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: 1. an electrochemical cell, which comprises: an electrode; 2. a lithium-ion battery, which comprises: a housing including one or two electrodes, a liquid electrolyte arranged between an anode and a cathode, and a separator between the cathode and anode; 3. a lithium-ion polymer battery, which comprises: a housing including one or two electrodes, a polymer electrolyte arranged between the anode and cathode, and a microporous separator; 4. a solid-state battery, which comprises: a housing including one or two electrodes, and a solid electrolyte layer arranged between an anode layer and a cathode layer; and 5. an ultracapacitor, which comprises: a power source attached to two collectors wherein at least one of the collectors are in contact with one or two electrodes, a liquid electrolyte arranged between the electrode, and a separator between the current electrode.
