NOVELTY - The material has a microscopic porous conductive network structure that is composed of conductive media. The resin-based material distributed in the pores contained is filled in the porous conductive network structure. The electrode is arranged on the porous conductive network structure or on a composite structure composed of the porous conductive network structure and a resin-based material. The conductive medium comprises a conductive material or a non-conductive material coated with a conductive material. USE - Smart composite material for damage monitoring or self-repair application. ADVANTAGE - The material is easy to be composited with resin-based materials without reducing the mechanical properties of the composite material. The invented smart composite material can be self-monitor and locate the damage, and display it graphically and also perform fixed-point self-repair on the specified damage without affecting other areas. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a preparation method of smart composite material; (2) a damage self-monitoring method; and (3) a self-repair method.
