NOVELTY - Preparing 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid comprises reacting 5-hydroxymethylfurfural with oxygen in a mixed solvent composed of an organic solvent and water in the presence of an oxidation catalyst to obtain the 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid, where the oxidation catalyst is a supported catalyst containing bismuth and a noble metal. USE - The method is useful for preparing 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid. ADVANTAGE - The method avoids the introduction of alkaline compound in the traditional method, has high catalytic efficiency, and is green reaction process.
